While on a visit to Budapest on May 25-26, President Igor Dodon explored possibilities of developing the commercial-economic relations and exchanged opinions on the electoral legislation with Hungarian officials. Igor Dodon invited his counterpart Janos Ader to pay an official visit to Moldova, IPN reports.
The two Heads of State discussed the initiatives to ensure transparency in the financing of NGOs and possibilities of strengthening Moldova’s statehood. The subject of statehood was also raised in the Moldovan official’s meeting with the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban. President Dodon welcomed Viktor Orban’s position that migration to his country should be limited.
Igor Dodon encouraged the Hungarian companies to take an active part in the activity of the Free Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Moldova, which offer attractive conditions for foreign investors. He welcomed the opening, through the Hungarian bank Export-Import (Eximbank), of a credit line to the value of €61.53 for Moldovan business entities that have common projects with partners from Hungary.
In the meeting with the president of the International Organization for the Family Brian Brown, Igor Dodon spoke about the national program on family capital and the activities staged in Moldova to support and promote the traditional family. The interlocutors also conferred on the possible organization of the World Congress of Families in Chisinau in 2018.
President Dodon described the meeting with the diaspora in Budapest as very warm, with a useful and necessary dialogue. With representatives of the Moldova diaspora, the Head of State discussed possibilities of ensuring internships at the Moldovan Presidential Office for diaspora studies studying for their master’s degree. These will be thus directly involved in the activity of the presidential institution.
