The chairman of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon denies the accusations that he is the man of the first deputy head of the Democratic Party Vladimir Plahotnicuc, made against him by aspirants for the office of President of Moldova. The issue was developed in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
The Socialist leader noted that he does not have friendly relations with Plahotniuc and they didn’t have common businesses. “I got acquainted with Plahotniuc in 2008, at an economic forum as far as I remember. He never came for audience to me and we didn’t wait in someone’s antechamber together, he said.
Asked how he bought the luxury house where he lives together with his family, Igor Dodon said he faces difficulties and has to accept the parents’ help. “I raised a loan from Victoriabank at an interest rate of 8% a year and sold the apartment. I have to repay 1 million lei yet. Now we live on my wife’s incomes and we also have parents who help us,” he stated.
Igor Dodon assured that the PSRM’s funds are collected legally, while the costs are made transparent. “All the money is declared officially. We incurred costs of 27 million lei. The information was published on the CEC’s website. We collected the money from donations. Everything is according to law. I personally donate 500 to 1,000 lei a month,” he said.
