The Socialists demand that President Maia Sandu should obey the Constitution and should nominate a candidate for Prime Minister, who will most probably not be supported by the Socialist MPs. The leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon said it wouldn’t be right to vote a government proposed by Maia Sandu in relation to the supporters of the PSRM, IPN reports.

“President Maia Sandu is afraid that the government proposed by her will be voted in. According to her team, now the rating of the PAS is very high and they need snap parliamentary elections to be held as swiftly as possible so as to gain more seats in the next legislature. Maia Sandu is obliged to nominate a candidate for Prime Minister, but she now tries to find a method to bypass the law,” Igor Dodon stated in a talk show on NTV Moldova channel.

The politician also said that the PSRM hasn’t yet decided whether to support the candidate that will be proposed by Maia Sandu for premiership or not. However, the leader of the Socialists considers it would not be fair towards the voters of the PSRM to vote in a government proposed by Maia Sandu.

“I’m convinced that the 700,000 citizens who voted for me are against voting in the Government of Maia Sandu. I think we should not vote for Maia Sandu’s Government. Judging by what she said about Russia, the Transnistrian region, if she also controls the Government, which has more powers than the President, she could do so many foolish mistakes that we will need five years to repair her mistakes,” stated Igor Dodon.

The president of the PSRM said his party does not support the idea of inducing snap parliamentary elections following the non-adoption of laws by Parliament during 90 days. Igor Dodon noted the Socialist MPs will go to the first plenary sitting of the spring session that will most probably take place on February 4.
