President Igor Dodon said he reserves the right to convoke the Great National Assembly if the ruling Democratic Party continues to worsen the situation in the Republic of Moldova. He informed about this in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
Igor Dodon referred to two situations when the Great National Assembly could be convoked. “If this party tries to cause a military conflict on the Nistru, which we do not need, or will try to dismiss the President elected by the people, we reserve the right to convoke the Great National Assembly where we will request the people to decide what we should do further,” said the President.
He noted that he does not want the situation in Moldova to be destabilized, but he is permanently provoked by a number of players, including the Democratic Party. “The PDM wants destabilization as this way it could justify the lack of results. Schools are closed. You see what is happening to the hospitals, prices, medicines, etc. They now need destabilization and thus provoke me, but we will act very calmly,” stated President Dodon.
