The Socialist leader Igor Dodon recommends the MPs of the Party of Socialists not to vote for the Government led by Igor Grosu. Even if an eventual vote in favor of this Government can bring political capital to the Socialists, this will be a disaster for the country. Moreover, even if the second attempt to vote in the Government fails, there won’t be reasons for dissolving Parliament, IPN reports.
The leader of the PSRM Igor Dodon said that in accordance with the last decision of the Constitutional Court, if the Grosu Government is not voted in, the President is to open new consultations with the parliamentary groups so as to consider the circumstances for dissolving Parliament. The existence of a parliamentary majority annuls the possibility of dissolving the legislature.
“If the Grosu Government is not invested tomorrow, the parliamentary majority could insist on nominating candidate Golovatiuc. We consider there are no reasons for dissolving Parliament. We will not allow holding snap elections at the expense of people’s lives,” Igor Dodon stated in the talk show “Key Issue” on NTV channel.
Moreover, the politician said the PSRM will not vote for the Government proposed by Igor Grosu as this is not ready to take over and will block the economy, will destroy everything. In several months, this would resign and would be removed by a censure motion.
Igor Dodon noted that after the attempt to vote in the Grosu Government fails, the PSRM will demand that the President should nominate Vladimir Golovatiuc as a candidate for Prime Minister.
“We suggest a professional Cabinet. You can compare Grosu and Golovatiuc. Among the main objectives will be vaccination, stabilization of the budgetary system by amending the state budget law and economic recovery,” stated Igor Dodon.
The leader of the PSRM noted that this is his personal opinion. Before the Parliament sitting of March 25, the party’s Political Executive and parliamentary group will have meetings to take an official decision as to the vote for the Grosu Government. Igor Dodon noted that after these meetings, at 9:30am, he will hold a press briefing to make public the taken decision. The Parliament sitting was set to start at 10am.
In accordance with the law, the Government can be invested by at least 51 votes of MP.
