Igor Dodon: Government restructuring process commenced

The Government restructuring process has started: Vladimir Voronin and Mark Tkaciuk have become insufferable to many key members of the Communist Party (PCRM), and some of the Communist MPs are waiting for the right moment to leave the PCRM. This was stated by Socialist leader Igor Dodon in an interview published today, June 21, by the website All Moldova, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “Yes, I have mentioned that one of the socialists’ goals is to restructure the current government, because this way the secret accord of the Alliance for European Integration will be compromised; the unionist liberals will be eliminated from ruling positions and opportunities for changes in the country’s economic and political management will appear. The process has already begun. In this sense, an hour decides more than a whole year”, said Igor Dodon. He avoided telling which of the current parties and unaffiliated MPs are potential allies of the Socialist Party (PSRM), but he has mentioned that they have to share the party’s political views. “Our views are as clear as possible, they are leftist views: statehood and integrity, the foundation of a Moldovan civil society, strategically prioritized cooperation with Russia and the CIS, social protection for the society, the stimulation of the business sector, “History of Moldova” as a school subject, abolition of the Law legalizing homosexuality, emphasis on increasing salaries and indexing pensions. These will be the determinative views to be set as bargaining conditions when negotiating with potential political allies”, Dodon added. When asked if he is willing to collaborate, in the restructuring of the government, with Prime Minister Vlad Filat, who mentioned on several occasions that he is ready to conduct changes in the government, Igor Dodon replied that it all depends on how well the socialists’ appeals will be heard: “Depending on how well our claims are received and respected, we may be will to participate in the newly restructured government. Otherwise, we will remain in opposition, and will return to government and Cabinet only after the Parliamentary elections”, said the MP. The Socialist leader aims at gathering enough party members for a share in the Parliament. “We are counting on other PCRM members, who may leave. I have said that more people will leave the PCRM, and it is happening. Voronin and Tkaciuk have become insufferable to many communists, and several MPs are waiting for the right moment for leaving the ship of these two “political pirates”, who have lost their mental stability”, added Igor Dodon.
