Igor Dodon: Early elections could take place after ordinary parliamentary elections

Early elections could take place after the ordinary parliamentary elections scheduled for next February. This could happen if a consensus is not reached about the formation of a coalition in the next legislature, President Igor Dodon was quoted by IPN as saying in a talk show on RTR Moldova channel.

“Only the Socialists can obtain a majority of seats of MP by legal ways. If an agreement is not reached, early elections will be held, “ stated President Dodon. According to him, any political party should think well before entering a coalition in the future Parliament, given the Moldovan realities.

As regards the idea that Moldova should abolish the presidential institution, Igor Dodon said the ruling party during the next few weeks could implement all those threats applying to the Presidential Office and the Party of Socialists and the party could be even excluded from the race.

He promised the sympathizers of the President and the PSRM in October – November will mobilize. “If the presidential institution is liquidated or the Party of Socialists is be somehow affected, we will have to take to the streets to defend our rights,” stated President Dodon.
