Igor Dodon discusses Opposition Law with European officials
The chairman of the Party of Socialists of Moldova (PSRM), MP Igor Dodon conferred on the Opposition Law with the Permanent Representative of the Council of Europe in Moldova Ulvi Akhundlu, it is said in a commune from the party, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The officials talked about the PSRM’s initiative to draft an opposition bill. Igor Dodon said that this subject was earlier discussed with Moldova’s President Nicolae Timofti, who assured that he will support this initiative.
The Socialists’ leader stressed the importance of broad consultations on this law, including with European institutions, so as to obtain useful recommendations for designing an efficient document.
Ulvi Akhundlu welcomed Socialists’ intentions to improve the legislation on the work of the opposition, saying this will contribute to developing democracy in Moldova. He assured he will soon put forward proposals on the issue, says the communiqué.
