President of Moldova Igor Dodon requested the chairman of the Supreme Council of the Eurasian Economic Union Almazbek Atambaev to offer Moldova the status of observer to the Union.
In a posting on a social networking site, Igor Dodon wrote that the request is to be examined in a meeting of Heads of State of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union at the end of this May, IPN reports.
“The Republic of Moldova should cooperate both with the West and the East and this partnership should be based excessively on the national interests of our country,” wrote Igor Dodon.
An international economic forum will be held in Chisinau on April 3. This will involve the chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sarkisyan.
