Igor Dodon and Renato Usatyi intend to close national roads in protest

The leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon and the leader of the Political Party “Our Party” Renato Usatyi announced that they could bloc national roads if the demands they submitted to the government are not satisfied. In a joint news conference, the two said some of the streets in Chisinau could also be blocked by tents and not only on the weekend, IPN reports.

“We blocked the central boulevard for two days. This is the start of plan B. If there is no reaction and the head of state does not resign, the events of last night will be repeated, but on workdays already,” stated Renato Usatyi.

Another demand is to convene an extraordinary sitting of Parliament on October 4 to discuss the people’s demands. “Tomorrow, the 24 members of the Socialist faction will be inside the Parliament Building, starting at 11am. I call on the independent MPs to join in. We still can solve the problem by avoiding the destabilization of the social situation in Moldova,” said Igor Dodon.

Sympathizers of the Party of Socialists and the “Our Party” blocked the section of Stefan cel Mare Blvd between the streets Serghei Lazo şi Maria Cebotari with tents in the evening of October 2.
