President Igor Dodon said that if he wants, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Igor Sharov can be dismissed tomorrow. The reaction comes after President Dodon published pictures of a classroom with students where he does not wear a protective mask and the minister condemned the non-observance of the measures imposed by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission, IPN reports.
“We will discuss with Mister Sharov and will ask him to collect facts. If he is unable to do this, other measures in his regard can be taken, including political ones. The Head of State was with a mask in the school. When I talked to the students, I took off the mask and told them several words and put the mask on again. I say this for those who want to see the reality,” Igor Dodon stated in a special edition on Prime TV channel in the evening of September 16.
According to him, when images of events in which he takes part are published, videos are also published and it is easier to see how it happened. He obeys all the decisions and measures taken by the responsible commissions and he wears masks during all his visits to institutions, especially schools.
Igor Dodon noted the government coalition signed an agreement and this requires particular internal cooperation and it is not right to launch attacks on the partner, with Igor Sharov representing the PDM. The minister could have acted ‘under the guidance of the four from the Democratic Party who aim to dissolve the coalition’. But the Socialists are reliable partners and do not want to throw the country into chaos.
