Igor Dodon about inauguration of Presidential Building

The President’s team will move to the Presidential Building in October or at the start of November at the latest. According to President Igor Dodon, the Presidential Building will be inaugurated in the first half of October, when the President of Turkey will come to Moldova to take part in the ceremony, IPN reports.

After the meeting of the National Council of the Party of Socialists, President Dodon told the reporters that all the extensive repair works were completed before the Independence Day. The works to lay out the area outside are yet to be carried out. The Turkish side committed itself to purchase all the furniture needed in the Presidential Building and this is to be delivered and installed during the next few weeks.

Igor Dodon also said that the President’s team that consists of 65-70 persons and that now works in three different buildings will move to the Presidential Building in October or at the start of November at the latest.

He pledged to stage the Open Doors Day at the Presidential Building biweekly. Also, excursions through the building will be organized for those who want.

The repair works started in the second half of this January. The Presidential Building was to be inaugurated in May, when the President of Turkey Recep Erdoğan was expected to come to Chisinau, but the visit was cancelled. It was later announced that the building will be officially opened on the Independence Day that is celebrated on Augury 27, but the ceremony was put off again.
