Independent candidate for President Igor Dodon, who is supported by the Party of Socialists, enumerated the main results he achieved as President in a new edition of the program “Igor Dodon Responds”. He said that the goals he set in 2016 were 80-85% achieved, while the other initiatives could not be implemented because he could not secure the Parliament’s support, IPN reports.

Igor Dodon said that during his presidency he managed to have a good dialogue with the people and visited over 600 localities in the country. His second important accomplishment is the implementation of social initiatives that he managed “to promote for the people.”

The incumbent President noted he contributed to removing the oligarchic regime last June. “Owing to the firmness and character I showed at that stage, we managed to do this,” stated the official.

He also mentioned the restoration of the balanced foreign policy. “I refer here especially to the reestablishment of the strategic relations of friendship with the Russian Federation. We didn’t worsen the relations with the European Union and continued on the path of European integration and continued to implement the Agreement with the EU. We simultaneously managed to restore the good relations with the Russian Federation and I think this is a very important accomplishment,” stated Igor Dodon.

The restoration of the dialogue with the Transnistrian region is another mentioned result. Igor Dodon said that during four years he had eight meetings with the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselsky. He managed to solve a number of problems, such as those related to the farmland and registration numbers.
