Moldova must now more actively than ever discuss with the Russian Federation so as to eliminate any kinds of misunderstanding, including related to the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU, Head of Parliament Igor Corman said in an interview for the portal Unimedia, quoted by IPN.
“We must discuss with Russia. Dialogue means that both of the sides can present their opinions and solutions. We must listen to the objections of Russia and to their arguments and present ours so as to find solutions acceptable to both of the sides. This is what our colleagues from the Government must do now and what we must do at parliamentary level. Our partners from the EU and the U.S. encourage us to have an open dialogue with Russia,” said Igor Corman.
According to the Speaker, despite the political statements made, Russia remains Moldova’s important partner and hostile assertions and attempts to worsen the relations between the two countries are thus not accepted.
“We must actively discuss with Russia, maybe more actively than ever. We must lay emphasis on the objectives concerning our people who have direct interests related to Russia, and intelligently avoid heated discussions. I recently had a very good discussion with my Russian counterpart. We will maintain this dialogue as open and correct as possibly,” stated Igor Corman.
