If the referendum to remove Dorin Chirtoaca from the mayoralty of Chisinau municipality is held, the residents of Chisinau will vote for his dismissal, said invitees of the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel, IPN reports.

Civic activist Sergiu Ungureanu said the inhabitants of the municipality will support the idea of the dismissal as it is not possible otherwise. The city was brought into a state when there are different auxiliary constructions both in the center and the rest of the districts and there is no order in the transport system and among functionaries.

As to the boycott announced by a number of political parties, Sergiu Ungureanu noted that the parties cannot distance themselves from political struggles. “We, as the inhabitants of this city, do not understand how it is possible for the representatives of parties, following their political convictions, to say that everything is fine and we should continue the same way,” said the activist.

Socialist councilor of Chisinau Stas Vartanean said he does not understand what the leaders of parties that announced they will boycott the referendum will tell their voters in the parliamentary elections. “If you say that you do not take part, it means that indirectly you support what is going on now,” he stated.
