The confrontation between the state institutions disappeared and the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) can no longer shift responsibility onto other parties for the failures in the country, said political commentators, who consider the PAS’ candidates for Parliament Speaker and Prime Minister are suitable and the new government should start to fulfill its electoral promises as swiftly as possible or citizens’ confidence will fade away, IPN reports.

According to political analyst Anatol Țăranu, the PAS’ candidates for the most important posts in the state were chosen well. However, he warns the new government that the assumed responsibility is enormous, while the expectations of citizens are very big.

“We will see what they do. There is a big expectation in society. If the politicians indulge in euphoria too much, they can miss the mark,” Anatol Țăranu stated in the talk show “Ghețu Asks” on TV8 channel.

Aurelia Peru, doctor of political sciences, believes that against the background of a difficult economic and social situation, the misunderstandings inside PAS can become more intense, while the party can erode from inside and can fail to complete its duties till the end.

“Now PAS holds both the fish and the fishing rod. They can no longer blame someone else. Theoretically, this mandate can be completed as the confrontation between the state institutions – the presidential administration, the Government and Parliament – disappeared. It’s clear that the presidential administration will be the epicenter of the power. However, in the case of large parties, fissures and internal competition usually arise,” stated Aurelia Peru.

According to the PAS’s electoral program, among the first measures that will be taken immediately after taking over power are to raise the minimum pension, to adopt the repatriation law so that the Moldovans who worked abroad can repatriate their personal belongings without paying additional duties, to introduce external assessment for prosecutors and judges, etc.
