If elections were held next Sunday, 53.4% of voters would definitely cast ballots

53.4% of the respondents of the Public Opinion Barometer said they would definitely mark their ballots if elections were held next Sunday. 17.4% of those polled said they would go to vote, 3.9% said they do not know, while 7.1% said they will certainly not go, Info-Prim Neo reports. If legislative elections took place, 33% of the respondents would vote for the PCRM. These respondents are mainly from urban areas, elderly persons, persons from minority ethnic groups and with low socioeconomic and education levels. 18% of those questioned would vote for the PLDM, 12% for the PL, whole 8% for the PDM. 20% of the respondents have not yet decided who to vote for. The number of supporters of the PCRM rose by 7%, while of the other parties decreased insignificantly. If parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, 29% of the respondents would not vote for the PCRM, 26% would not vote for the PL, while by 11% would not vote for the PLDM and PDM. 35.2% of those polled believe that the Soviet system that existed before the 1990s is the best system for Moldova, 13.1% said the current system is the best system, 31.1% opt for democracy by the model of the Western countries, while 19.4% consider the present Russian system is the best. The poll shows that 60.4% of the people think that Moldova should be ruled by one party, while 14.2% - by an alliance. Approximately the same percentage considers there must be two ruling parties that would replace each other. Commissioned by the Public Policy Institute, the Public Opinion Barometer was conducted by the Center for Sociological Investigations and Marketing CBS-AXA between October 22 and November 6. It covered a sample of 1 113 persons from 99 settlements. The margin of sampling error is 3%.
