Representatives of the Moldvan creative industry community are welcoming the Second Italian Design Exhibition as an occasion to expose themselves to the beauty of Italian culture and to get inspiration so as to cultivate more exquisite tastes in Moldova. This was stated by Alexandrin Buraga, founder of the Design Cafe&Club Platform, which is a partener of the Italian Design Exhibition that will be hosted by Chateau Mimi during March 24-30.
Alexandrin Buraga told a press conference that this year’s Exhibition will feature iconic pieces from renowned Italian designers.
Italy’s Ambassador to Moldova Valeria Biagiotti said the organization of the exhibition confirms the central role of the Italian design at the international level. Of the 179,000 design companies based in Europe with an aggregated income of over 25 billion euros, 29,000 are from Italy, with a total turnover of more than 4.3 billion euros.
In Europe’s design industry with its 48,000 employees, every sixth designer is of Italian origin. Italy is the second country in the world after the number of design patents issued. According to the ambassador, the Italian design system enjoys competitiveness through the education and training system applied in Italy. An example is the city of Milan, which hosts most of the design schools in the world.
No fewer than ten leading Italian brands, whose design has made history, will be present at the exhibition celebrating the Italian Design Days in the Republic of Moldova, hosted this year by Chateau Mimi. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday, and from Sunday until next Saturday it will be open to anyone visiting the Chateau.
