The Iasi-Chisinau gas pipeline is to be put into operation towards the end next year. This will be a rather great accomplishment, Romanian senator Ion Hadarca stated in the talk show “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel. According to him, the issue was discussed in the meeting of the Romania-Moldova interparliamentary commission for European integration that was held in Chisinau, IPN reports.
The senator said the contractor that will implement the project was identified. There are productive and absolutely necessary dynamics in the relations between the two states. “The problems discussed within the commission were rather broad and very necessary. The commission’s mission is to monitor and agree priorities that could be later turned into concrete projects. The projects will be later assumed by the governments of the two states,” noted Ion Hadarca. According to him, the joint meeting of the two governments will take place in autumn.
Roman Botan, a member of the Moldovan Parliament’s commission on national security, defense and public order, said that after Romania will take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Moldova will enjoy additional opportunities. Romania could include subjects concerning Moldova on the EU’s agenda. “I’m convinced that Romania can insist when it goes to the national interests of the area that includes us. This security zone should be taken into account as we are at the border of the NATO and the EU and the Republic of Moldova plays a role within the Eastern Partnership. At least I want to believe so, ”stated the MP.
Mircea Esanu, executive director of the Moldova Social Investment Fund, said the Fund manages €26 million provided by the Government of Romania for the infrastructure of Moldovan kindergartens. A part of this sum has been already used. “Today we have a result that no one can challenge – 845 kindergartens benefitted directly from non-reimbursable financing from the Romanian state,” he noted, adding that this is more than half of the national kindergartens and the renovations will last for another at least 10-15 years.
