The Ialoveni branch of the Hancesti Court sentenced a murderer to 16 years in jail. The man got drunk and killed the couple he was visiting, IPN learned from a press release of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The prosecutors say that the man went to visit the victims in September 2016. Being drunk, he got into a fight with the owner of the home. Together with the latter’s lover, they beat him to death with a piece of wood then went to the outskirts of the village to hide the traces of their crime. Fearing the woman might speak to the police, the murderer killed her with the same piece of wood.

He will be jailed in a closed-type penitentiary. The sentence can be appealed.
