Ialoveni double murder suspect will be extradited from Turkey
The man who is suspected of the double murder committed in Ialoveni in 2010 will be extradited to Moldova from Turkey, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The Ministry of Justice of Turkey accepted to extradite him following a series of approaches made by Moldova and private meetings of Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko and the Turkish Minister of Justice Sadullah Ergin.
In May 2011, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Moldova made an appeal to the Ministry of Justice of Turkey, asking that it extradite the 32-year-olde citizen so that he could be held accountable for the extremely cruel murder that he supposedly committed.
According to prosecutors, the extradition process has lasted long because, according to the legislation of Turkey, a final decision on the extradition is to be taken by the Council of Ministers of Turkey. Currently, the Interpol offices in the two states are organizing the extradition of the man who will be investigated and brought to trial in Moldova.
A man from Ialoveni and his lover were found dead in a car on the Chisinau – Ialoveni road in September 2010. They had been shot. Afterward, this case was associated with a similar murder, of two teens, committed near Durlesti. But the connection between the two crimes has not been confirmed.
