I hope our dialogue partners will not give us reasons to doubt their reliability, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration

“We will treat as unacceptable any message that will affect the integrity, independence and sovereignty of Moldova,” Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov said Thursday. He reiterated the Moldovan Government's position stated before the events set to take place in Tiraspol on September 2. In a statement, the Government called on foreign officials not to accept the invitation to take part in the festivities held to celebrate partition that generated a conflict, Info-Prim Neo reports. Asked by journalists to comment on the statement made by Russian Ambassador in Chisinau Valery Kuzmin, who congratulated Transnistria on its 20th anniversary in the name of Russian Foreign Ministe Sergei Lavrov and promised to continue providing support to the population of the region, Victor Osipov said the diplomat spoke about the special status of Transnistria within the unitary state Moldova. The Deputy Prime Minister said Moldova is an independent and sovereign state recognized by the entire world and is a state of law, but at the talks in the 5+2 format all the partners have the right to express and argue their positions, including the Transnistrian side (which is not a state of law). “I hope that our dialogue partners will not give us reasons to doubt their reliability,” he stressed. On September 2, it is 20 years of the foundation of the breakaway republic of Transnistria.
