Head of Parliament Igor Corman said that he does not need opinion polls to realize that the voters’ trust in the authorities has decreased. He explained that the people had great expectations of the democratic government and many of these expectations weren’t met, IPN reports.
In the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, the Speaker said that all the disputes between the parties that formed the government coalition and the crises confused the people and the rulers should work hard to regain their confidence.
“Many reforms that are now implemented cannot produce results overnight. They have an impact on an average and long term. We want to change things very much and increase the salaries, pensions and allowances. Until the Government submits the draft state budget law for next year, we also have expectations. The budget law is to reach Parliament the coming weeks and we realize that we must work namely in this direction,” said the politician.
After a telephone call from a TV viewer who said that the people are tired of the aggressive and repulsive behavior of the MPs in the sittings, Igor Corman said he understands the people. “There will be no such behavior when the people vote for dignified persons. The elections are the best exam. We are debating the new Parliament’s Regulations, but nobody can educate the MPs at their current age,” he stated.
On September 26, Parliament held the first sitting of the autumn-winter session. It wasn’t a calm one. The Communist opposition proposed dissolving Parliament and dismissing the Government, while the Liberals headed by Mihai Ghimpu expressed their indignation at the fact that the Speaker called the leader of the Liberal reformers Ion Hadarca to the rostrum, as the representative of all the Liberals in Parliament.
