The authorities decided to launch the procedure for adjusting the number of predators and combating pests by hunting. The hunting is allowed by March 1. In the wooded areas managed by the Forestry Agency “Moldsilva”, hunting is allowed on Saturdays and Sundays, while in the leased out hunting areas – everyday, IPN reports.
In a press release, “Moldsilva” says the goal is to improve the epizootic situation by adjusting the number of foxes and jackals and combating pests in forests such as stray dogs and cats, gray crows and magpies. The hunting activities involve the forest and cynegetic personnel of the managed forest companies in cooperation with representatives of the national ecological inspectorates and national animal safety divisions.
The numerical adjustment activities are performed not later than one hour before the sunrise and not later than one hour after the sunset. In leased out hunting areas, the given activities are carried out by lessors with the mandatory participation of representatives of the managed forest entities.
The final results of the numerical adjustment activities will become known by March 4.
