Hunting in Domneasca Forest was organized based on order of “Moldsilva”

The hunting in the Domneasca Forest was organized based on an order of “Moldsilva” Agency and an order of the natural reserve concerning the opening of boar hunting in 2012. Under the given orders, the hunting was organized and held with a view to reducing the number of boars on the territory of the reserve, “Moldsilva” said in a press release. “In accordance with the Government decision of August 15, 2012 concerning the regulation of hunting in the 2012-2013 season, there were approved the limits of boar hunting in forests, including the natural reserve “Padurea Domneasca”. The boar hunting limits were set by the Agency at the suggestion of subordinate forest entities and were then coordinated with the Zoology Institute of the Academy of Sciences and presented to the Ministry of the Environment,” said “Moldsilva”. According to assessments by specialists of “Padurea Domneasca” reserve for February – March 2012, there were 163 boars in the reserve and 35 boars were to be hunted. Such hunting is aimed at ensuring ecological balance and diminishing the possible damage caused by wild animals to forests, agriculture and other sectors of the national economy. “Moldsilva” does not specify if the participants in the December 23 hunting were experienced hunters and all of them had a hunter’s permit.
