The group of citizens who have been on hunger strike since October 3, outisde the Parliament, has ceased their strike. For four days, four people did not eat and slept in tents. Now they say that they are feeling well, but that they need a few days of recovery. The group carried out the action as a form of protest against the "oligarch and country traitor Igor Dodon”.

In an IPN press conference, Vasile Costiuc, the leader of the Political Party Democracy at Home and participant of the hunger strike, said that the protesters demanded the withdrawal of foreign military troops from the territory of the Republic of Moldova, as well as the investigation of the "traitor, nation and country backstabber and FSB agent, Igor Dodon”. The protest aimed to pressure MPs to form a new pro-European parliamentary majority, consisting of "patriotic Mps".

Vasile Costiuc added that, along with several associations, he has prepared a request addressed to the general prosecutor to start the prosecution of Igor Dodon. The leader of "Democracy at Home" appealed to national and international institutions and informed external partners about "the danger of hijacking European law, the democratic path and the establishment of an oligarchic dictatorial regime through the Kozak alliance".

According to Vasile Costiuc, "even though many saw the change of power from Chișinău as a positive thing, the country is being mislead". "The issue of Russian troops withdrawal was forgotten and state institutions no longer address this issue in the UN and OSCE". "The territorial division of Moldova is wanted, while the pro-European vector is only imitated in order to obtain financial benefits from the EU", said Vasile Costiuc.

Vasile Sinigur, one of the protesters, said that if Moldovan authorities do not take action, his colleagues and himself will hold a hunger strike in front of the US embassy in Chișinău, where they will demand the involvement of development partners.

The activists called on the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the IMF, the World Bank and all embassies accredited in Chișinău to strictly monitor all justice reforms and the political process in Moldova. The Parliament and the executive branch were asked to "stop simulating reforms, while dodonizing the country and spreading chaos."
