The rehabilitation points set up on the streets of Chisinau during the dogs days and the blood pressure measuring units in medical centers were besieged last week. In the July 13 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, the head of the municipal Health Division Mihai Moldovanu said more than 5,000 people sought assistance, IPN reports.
Mihai Moldovanu noted that most of the people complained of hypertension. They were given first aid and some of them were taken to the hospital for examination. Many people visited the rehabilitation points only to drink water.
An orange code advisory for hot water was issued last week. In parts of Moldova, daytime temperatures exceeded 40 degrees Celsius. The rescuers put up tents to provide shelter from the sun and assistance in Chisinau and other towns of the country.
