As many as 382 Moldovans were banned from entering Russia in the period between December 1, 2014 and January 16, 2015. Of them, 302 Moldovans could not enter Russia last December, while the other 80 in the first half of this January. The information was provided by the Border Police, at the IPN’s request.
In the period, more than 335,000 Moldovans crossed the border with Ukraine through customs posts. But its’ not known exactly how many of them went to Russia. Over 25,000 Moldovans travelled by plane to Russia through the Chisinau International Airport.
Before the parliamentary elections of last November, one of the election runners announced that they agreed with the Russian authorities to allow the Moldovan migrants who broke the migration legislation to return to Moldova in the period between November 5 and November 30 and then to freely return to Russia, with all their previous penalties to be forgiven.
