The National Food Safety Agency ordered to withdraw 220 kg of belly peppers, 180 kg of tomatoes and 80 kg of cucumbers that do not meet the minimum quality standards from sale, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Agency.
As a result of surprise inspections at retail outlets in the municipality of Chisinau during September 24 – 26, inspectors established that some of the products lacked information about their origin, quality, caliber, category, year of the harvest and information about the additional treatment of fruit and vegetables.
The inspectors found unlabeled fruit and vegetables in storehouses, noncompliant vegetables and spoiled fruit and vegetables put on sale.
The involved business entities were warned to remove the discovered irregularities.
