Humanitarian project forming part of multinational military exercise “Medceur-2007” completed
The humanitarian project that started to be implemented as part of the military-medical exercise “Medceur-2007” in summer was finalised.
At the closing ceremony of the project, which took place at the Bulboaca shooting range, Minister of Defence Vitalie Vrabie said that the Moldovan authorities will look for ways of implementing similar humanitarian projects with social character while planning the multinational exercises that will be held in Moldova in the future.
U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Moldova, Mr. Michael D. Kirby underlined the importance of such projects for the local people, expressing readiness to continue cooperating in providing the necessary support to develop noble projects helpful for the civil society.
The kindergarten and medical centre in Floresti village, Anenii Noi district, and the artesian well in Cobusca Veche village in the same district were repaired as part of the humanitarian assistance project financed by the United States European Command. The total project cost is 135,000 USD. Medceur 2007 was held under NATO's Partnership for Peace programme.
