The humanitarian aid is reaching the people hit by floods in the districts of Anenii-Noi and Stefan-Voda. The question is about Serpeni, Varnita and Calfa villages in Anenii-Noi, where 16 houses have been flooded these days and in Purcari (Stefan-Voda), where three families remained without roofs over their heads, deputy premier Victor Stepanic stated at the siting of the Governmental commission for humanitarian aid on July 4, as he chairs this commission, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the districts of Briceni, Rascani and Ocnita, where the water withdrew, the families whose houses were destroyed have been temporarily lodged in kindergartens and schools. The victims are supplied with food, water, apparel and footwear, mats and bed linen, the deputy prime-minister said. He says ordinary citizens from the localities not affected by floods offer substantial aid, as well as a series of non-governmental organizations which gathered 2,280 parcels with clothes and food, with a total weight of over 25 tonnes. The accounts opened in this respect by the Finance Ministry have gathered some 2 million lei. The money will go to the citizens whose houses were destroyed. Victor Stepaniuc underlines the role of the local authorities in transparently distributing the aid. The amounts to be granted by the Government to repair the dwellings and the criteria to select the beneficiaries will soon be announced. The vice premier says humanitarian aid is arriving from Russia, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Austria and other countries. It consists of food, detergents, medicines, sanitation equipment and other articles. Speaking about the aid from the Government's reserves, says 15,000 tonnes of flour have already been distributed, by 10 kg to a person, as well as 800 blankets and bed linen sets. The agricultural damages will be recuperated by insurance companies, if the victims have such contracts. The state will also provide support to people without insurances.
