Humanist Party slams Mihail Saakashvili’s visit to Moldova

The Humanist Party considers Georgian President Mihail Saakashvili’s expected visit to Moldova to be a provocation which might worsen the relationship between Moldova and Russia, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We remember the visits of Saakashvili, Iuschenko and Basescu a few days before the elections in 2005, which were meant to help former President Vladimir Voronin. This was a clear involvement in the electoral process in Moldova. Today, Saakashvili, just as impertinent, supports the Alliance for European Integration”, stated PUM leader Valeriu Pasat. He is worried that other states’ representatives involve in the elections and that this might tension the situation in Moldova. The Humanist Party said in a press release that during the campaign, Moldova has been frequently visited by foreign agents, including the Georgian chief of Security Ghivi Targamadze, known for his anti-Russian views and allegiance to President Saakashvili.
