Humanist Party proposes non-partisan government coalition
The Humanist Party of Moldova (PUM) suggests forming a broad non-partisan coalition immediately after the elections so as to overcome the present political crisis, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“We speak about a broad coalition that will not be based on party principles - a national salvation coalition. Such a government will manage to restore trust,” the party says in a communiqué.
According to the PUM, the party leaders that would apply for high-ranking positions should resign from the post of party heads. “The President, Head of Parliament, Prime Minister and members of the Cabinet must forget about the narrow party interests and ambitions and quit as party members,” the party says.
The communiqué also says that the head of state must be a respected, politically unaffiliated person who is able to strengthen society. PUM leader Valeriu Pasat considers the Metropolitan Bishop of Moldova is an appropriate person for this post.
