A Russian man accused of human trafficking has been arrested at the Chisinau Airport as he tried to leave Moldova, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, earlier this year the man recruited a Moldovan national, whom he promised a well-paying job in Japan. When reaching the destination, the Moldovan was forced to steal car tires from a number of Osaka warehouses during night hours. After managing to escape and return home, the man reported the crime.
The suspect, 46, has been arrested for 30 days. If found guilty, he could spend up to 15 years in prison.
