Human remains found in garden in Hâncești

Human remains were discovered in a private garden in Secăreni village of Hâncești district during digging works. Senior press officer of the Hâncești Police Inspectorate Cristina Vicol said the Guard Service was informed about the find by the female owner of the house by a phone call.

The police travelled to the scene and collected the bones for a medical examination. It wasn’t possible to determine the sex, age and cause of death.

Contacted by IPN for details, the mayor of Secăreni Gheorghe Cojocaru said the woman who alerted the police bought the house several years ago and lives there together with the family. There are no missing persons in the village. “I don’t know when those bones can date from. Experts will determine for how long they had stayed there,” noted the mayor.

The bones were transmitted to the Center for Forensic Medicine for examination.
