How to choose artificial fir tree and decorations

To avoid purchasing products of a low quality, the Consumer Protection Agency recommends buyers to consider particular aspects when they choose an artificial fir tree and decorations for it. Specialists warn that some of the products contain substances that can cause allergy and even poisoning, IPN reports.

The buyers are advised to make sure that the base of the fir tree is straight and sufficiently stable. By softly touching the branches, one can see how resistant the color is and if there are voids between branches.

The artificial trees should be made from fireproof material. In the case of adornments, those made from breakable material or glass should be avoided to prevent incidents. The decorations for the Christmas tree are not intended for children. These are not subject to mandatory safety compliance checks.

Specialists recommend cutting down the lower branches of the tree if there are small children or pets in the house so as to avoid accidents. The decorations should be placed up so that they are not within the reach of children or animals.
