All the administered vaccines against COVID-19 do not contain the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The COVID-19 vaccines do not induce, provoke or start the disease, explained Ninel Revenco, coordinator of the national vaccination communication group. “The vaccines are safe and efficient. After the person is vaccinated, protection measures should be obeyed in the post-vaccination period so as not to contract the virus. After the first dose is administered, we are not protected against infection. The antibodies are being formed. Even after the second dose is administered, we must also obey these golden rules, such as maintaining of social distancing, washing of hands and wearing of masks,” Ninel Revenco stated in a news conference given at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
Epidemiologist Laura Ţurcan said that four confirmed cases of COVID-19 after vaccination were reported in Moldova after March 2, when the immunization campaign started. The persons were vaccinated during the incubation period, when they didn’t know they were infected. The period can vary between two and ten days.
Asked how many doctors refused to be vaccinated against COVID-19, epidemiologist Alexei Ceban, of the National Public Health Agency, said it is not refusal, but rather hesitation. “Millions of doses were administered and it was proven that they have an impact on the diminution of morbidity, especially on serious forms and deaths,” he stated. As to the fact that the Ministry of Health didn’t confirm the presence of the British variant of the virus in Moldova, Alexei Ceban said the Ministry referred to the response received from the German labs to which samples were sent last December. Later, there were transmitted other samples and the results for these haven’t come yet.
