Democratic MP Sergiu Sîrbu, who is a member of the Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities, said Nicolae Eșanu and Vladimir Grosu were the Parliament’s candidates for the post of Constitutional Court judge. At the same time, the commission’s chairman Sergiu Litvinenko, ACUM MP, neither confirmed nor refuted the announcement, saying a press release on the subject will be issued shortly.
“After a long and intense day, we finally completed the contest to fill the posts of CC judge. Nicolae Eșanu and Vladimir Grosu emerged victorious. Congratulations to the selected candidates! We hope the parliamentary majority will respect the decision and will confirm the new CC judges,” Sergiu Sîrbu posted on his Facebook page.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, Sergiu Litvinenko said: “The commission will soon issue a press release and we will tell you everything”.
The contest involved 17 candidates and one of them was excluded.
