The Romanian citizens situated in the Republic of Moldova can cast their votes in 37 polling stations available for the Romanian presidential election which will be held in November. According to the Romanian Embassy in Chișinău, an absolute novelty for this election cycle is that Romanian citizens outside Romanian borders can vote over the course of three days.
The polling stations will be open starting from Friday, November 8, from 12:00 until 21:00. On Saturday, November 9, and Sunday, November 10, polling stations will open from 09:00 until 21:00. Voters who are present at 21:00 at the polling station headquarters, as well as those who are outside, may cast their votes until 23:59.
Romanian citizens will be able to vote in 12 polling stations in Chișinău, 2 polling stations in Bălți and in 23 other settlements that will each have polling station.
In order to cast their votes for the election of the president of Romania, Romanian citizens in Moldova need a valid Romanian identity card or a valid simple electronic passport issued by the Romanian authorities. Persons who have reached the age of 18 on election day are eligible to cast their votes.
Until September 15, 2019, Romanian citizens in Moldova could send requests to express their vote by mail.
If the president of Romania is not elected from the first round, a second round of elections will take place on November 22, 23 and 24.
