The works to prepare the municipal housing sector for the cold season are in full swing. The engineering networks, including the heating systems of apartment buildings, are being cleaned and the roofs are being repaired. Though the works take place slower than last year, the competent authorities assure they will meet the deadlines.

Deputy head of the Public Amenities Division of Chisinau Gennady Dubita has told IPN that the engineering systems are being washed hydro-pneumatically and a hydraulic check is performed. The roofs of apartment buildings are being renovated. Over 9,000 square meters have been repaired so far.

According to Gennady Dubita, as the financial situation of the municipal housing sector managing enterprises is difficult, the local authorities allocate building material in the form of bituminous membrane for repairing roofs. The repaired areas will be thus extended and eventual leaks or other incidents will be prevented.

The functionary also said the works to prepare the municipal housing sector for winter are executed at a slower pace because the workers were engaged in works to deal with the consequences of tempests, such as branch and sludge collection and others. Nevertheless, the works will be completed on time.
