Officers of the National Anticorruption Center and the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office carried out searches in the home of a former head of Criuleni district in the first half of April 13. The Center’s press officer Angela Starinski has told IPN that the ex-functionary is investigated in a case of corruption.

According to Angela Starinski, when officers tried to enter the house, the person put up resistance and the officers took special measures given the reports that this held a gun. “Ultimately, the officers entered the house and detained the person, who was on the balcony and threatened to jump out. More special investigation officers were called to prevent any possible danger. More details will be provided later,” she stated.

The police are to announce if the ex-head of Criuleni district will be arrested or not.
