House destroyed in fire in Criuleni district

A house in Hrusova village of Criuleni district was gutted in the morning of June 19. When the fire started, there was no one inside. Locals presume the man who lived in that house set fire to it himself.

The call to 901 was made by neighbors at about 9am. Initially, the flames covered the house’s roof and then extended. Press officer of the Civic Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan has told IPN that the source of fire is not yet clear. Specialists will examine the scene and will formulate a version.

Sources in the Hrusova mayor’s office have told IPN that a man with mental disorders lived in that house together with his brother. This morning, the two went to work, but the first allegedly returned home and set the house on fire.

According to the Civic Protection and Emergencies Service, the 794 fires that happened in Moldova so far this year resulted in 63 deaths.
