Hour of Europe in schools

The students will participate in the Hour of Europe event that will be held in schools on May 5 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Council of Europe (CE). Valentina Cujba, deputy head of the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, has told Info-Prim Neo that the Hour of Europe in some schools will be attended by representatives of the Council of Europe and different nongovernmental organizations that will provide information about the activity of the CE. The Hour of Peace will be held in schools on May 8, dedicated to the events of the Second World War. “The students will meet veterans and participants in different armed conflicts to learn about the historical events directly from the persons involved,” Valentina Cujba said. Events dedicated to Europe Day will take place in Chisinau on May 8, 9 and 10. The students will take part in concerts and exhibitions where they will represent the European Union member states. “There will be organized cognitive and recreational activities aimed at developing general human values in the young generation: to know their history and to be able to use the information correctly,” Valentina Cujba said.
