Patients with severe and moderate forms of Covid will be admitted to the Municipal Hospital for Pneumonia, where a ward with 40 beds has been repurposed.
According to Marina Buga, deputy head of Medical and Social Assistance, the decision was taken after 453 new Covid cases were recorded in the city last week, by 170 more than the week before.
Adult patients with moderate and severe forms will be hospitalized at the Municipal Hospital for Phthisiopneumology. Patients with complications will be transferred to the Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Health.
The municipality has a total hospitalization capacity of 64 beds for Covid patients. At present, 54 patients are treated for moderate forms. There are also 117 patients under supervision at home.
Mariana Buga urged the public to continue getting vaccinated against the coronavirus and observe good personal hygiene.
