Hoping to smile again - a baby needs help to defeat a rare disease that destroys her upper lip
Alexandrina Hancu, a lovable child that hasn’t reached her first birthday yet, needs help to battle a disease that devours her upper lip. The illness is caused by a very rare virus and advances extremely fast.
The diagnosis given to Alexandrina is anal and gluteal necrosis (that has been cured), and upper lip necrosis, coupled with sepsis.
To get her natural smile back, the girl needs three complicated surgical operations that can be done only in Germany. If Alexandrina is not operated within one or two months, she will not be able eat and speak properly.
Alexandrina is the first child born to Alexandru Hancu and Diana Terzi, a Chisinau couple. The girl’s mother is very grateful to the friends of the family for their support and for the idea to initiate a collection drive to raise money for the surgery.
“Sometimes life brings challenges and loss, but it also brings surprises and joys, and gives us the opportunity to get to know really great people,” said Diana, adding “every time she smiles with her only lip, Alexandrina brings colour to my life. And whatever you’ll do for her is priceless to me”.
To make donations for Alexandrina’s surgery, you can either transfer money to a bank account: Moldincombank SA, subsidiary Telecomntrans, code: MOLDMD2X332, account no. 222 573 26 98, beneficiary: Hancu Alexandru (fiscal code: 2000027129944), or call Diana Terzi on 337994 (home phone) and 079707577 (mobile phone), to give the money personally.
