The Supreme Council of Magistrates rejected the honorable resignation of judge Vasile Ghetu, of the Edinet Court, and dismissed him for the reason that he failed the performance test. The decision was taken in the Council’s April 15 meeting, Olga Cebanu, head of the communication and protocol service of the Ministry of Justice, has told IPN.
As he was discharged, the judge is not entitled to redundancy and other benefits. Vasile Ghetu was earlier punished by the Supreme Council of Magistrates with severe reprimand for inappropriate behavior. In 2011-2012, he regularly insulted and shouted and had an insolent behavior towards the participants in the trial, especially the employees of the internal affairs bodies and his colleagues.
In the same meeting, the Council accepted the resignations tendered by judges Ludmila Curca, of the Cimislia Court, Andrei Negurita, of the Stefan Voda Court, Gheorghe Ursan, of the Telenesti Court, Tudor Culava, of the Straseni Court, and Mihail Buruian, of the Chisinau Appeals Court.
