Homeless person freezes to death
A homeless man suffered general hypothermia and died shortly after taken by the ambulance.
Silvia Babara, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Emergency Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the unidentified man in his 50s was found on Testemiteanu St not far from the National Clinical Hospital. The man died in the ambulance, on the way to hospital.
Another homeless man in his 70s may have his legs amputated as he suffered frostbite while sleeping on the street. The man was rushed to the hospital.
A homeless woman aged about 60 was discovered on Valea Crucii St and taken to the hospital with general hypothermia.
The vagrants and homeless persons found on the street are taken to the Accommodation Center for the Homeless, where they spend the night. The Center can accommodate 70 persons. It is located at 2 Haltei St. The number of beds can be increased if necessary, said the Center’s head Iurie Ursu.
