The professional day of education professionals was marked on September 29 as part of a festivity staged at the Palace of the Republic. The event brought together about 700 employees from the education system of Chisinau municipality, veteran teachers and young specialists. Those who achieved remarkable results in education were awarded prizes and diplomas, while school students gave a performance, IPN reports.
Head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau Municipal Council Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said the role of teachers has always been of major importance in society even if this is not so highly appreciated as once. “The pedagogue is the one who contributes to the education, formation of skills, recognition and growth of any citizen of society,” she sated.
Attending the event, Minister of Education Corina Fusu said the profession of teacher is one of the most responsible and difficult ones. It implies a lot of devotion. “I understand very well that we do not live the best times, but I’m sure that by concerted effort and wish to always develop, we can fulfill the commitments and convince society, which sometimes criticizes us, so that we become better,” she stated.
The September 29 event included a series of projects dedicated to teachers such as “A smile, a flower...” where young volunteers presented flowers to veteran teachers in exchange for a smile. At the Palace of the Republic, this project will continue with a number of surprises.
