The Holy Fire from Jerusalem will be brought to the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth” in Chisinau in the evening of April 23, at about 8pm, Vadim Cheibaș, secretary general of the Metropolitan Church of Moldova, stated for IPN.
Vadim Cheibaș didn’t provide details about the delegation that will go after the Holy Fire and how this will be fetched to Chisinau. Earlier, His Holiness Vladimir, the Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and all Moldova, said that the situation this year is difficult owing to the state of emergency and the limitation of flights, but solutions are being looked for to bring the Holy Fire.
The Holy Fire from Jerusalem is to be brought by His Holiness Petru, the Metropolitan Bishop of Bessarabia, Archpriest of Chisinau and Exarch of Land, through the Iasi International Airport on April 23. The bishops, archpriests and church employees are invited to the Head Office of the Metropolitan Church of Bessarabia situated at 161, 31 August 1989 St, starting at 7pm, to welcome His Holiness Petru and to receive Holy Fire so that this is taken to all the churches by 12 midnight and is later transmitted to the parishioners.
The Holy Fire is described by Orthodox Christians as a miracle that occurs every year at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem on Holy Saturday, the day preceding Orthodox Easter. During this time, blue light is said to emit within Jesus’ tomb, rising from the marble slab covering the stone bed. Many consider it is the oldest Christian miracle that has been documented since 1106.
