Holidays continue

The Government has recently designated Friday, May 2, as a day off, while Saturday, May 17, as workday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Thus, after celebrating two days on Easter (April 27, 28), Moldovans will have a small vacation from May 1 to 5. Then they will work three days, and will have three more holidays on May 9, 10 and 11. Traditionally on May 9, Moldovans celebrate the so-called Victory over Fascism Day. The staffs of the Social Insurance Corporation and of Moldova’s Mail will rest less, as they will provide social services on holidays too. Doctors, police and service providers will also remain on duty. Although the Republic of Moldova has been tagged as Europe’s poorest country, it afforded a vacation of as many as 10 days during the winter holidays.
